TEXARKANA, Tx — Earlier this Saturday afternoon, June 8, 2024, a 79 year old man accidentally drove his Honda Accord into the lake at the Bringle Park boat ramp.
Ricky Dumas was fishing in his boat nearby and heard the commotion at the ramp.
When he noticed the man sitting in the drivers seat of the car as it began sinking under the water, he raced in that direction. He was able to make it over there and get the man out before it went underwater.

The man was not injured and we’re still working to retrieve the vehicle from the lake.
We’re very thankful that Mr Dumas was there today. His quick thinking and actions probably saved this man’s life. Great job!!!!
