SHREVEPORT, La — An inside source has revealed to Love Shreveport-Bossier that rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is hiring off-duty law enforcement officers from multiple agencies to provide security for an upcoming event in the Shreveport-Bossier area.
The officers will be compensated at a rate of $65 per hour, significantly higher than the typical hourly wage for local police officers.
This lucrative rate offers these off-duty officers an opportunity to earn approximately $2,000 over the course of the weekend.
Notably, the payment is being covered entirely by 50 Cent, with no funds expected to be allocated from the city’s budget. All compensation will be made directly to the participating officers.
The rate of $65 per hour is notable, as Shreveport Police Officers typically do not earn anywhere near this amount. The original figure of $75 per hour was set for off-duty Louisiana State Police officers; however, they reportedly withdrew from the arrangement when the venue was changed from a stadium to another location.
This initiative highlights the considerable effort being made to ensure a secure and well-managed event, demonstrating 50 Cent’s commitment to both the safety of attendees and the fair compensation of law enforcement personnel.
