SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER, La — In a shocking sequence of events early Wednesday, July 10, 2024 morning, multiple shootings erupted in the Shreveport-Bossier area, leaving residents and law enforcement on high alert.
The violence began at 12:22a.m. on Westover Road, where a female victim was reported shot in the leg when stray bullets entered her home. While Shreveport Police Department (SPD) officers were working this scene, another call came in to dispatch at 12:33 a.m. from Ochsner LSU Hospital. A male gunshot victim had arrived by private vehicle, also believed to have been shot on Westover Road or in the general area.

Simultaneously, at around 12:30am the Bossier City Police Department (BCPD) responded to a report of a male shot in the chest on Estelle Street in the Jaxx Quarters neighborhood. As BCPD officers were detaining a witness at the hospital, a white Charger, riddled with bullet holes, arrived with another gunshot victim. An individual in the vehicle was detained as well in relation to the Bossier City shooting.

While SPD and BCPD officers were coordinating outside the hospital, a call came in at 1:34a.m. about a shooting at Raceway Gas Station on Hearne Avenue.
Initial reports indicate a masked individual attempted to rob a male employee and shot him in the leg before fleeing on foot toward Cajun Inn.

The chaotic night continued at 2:55a.m. when a mother called 911, reporting that her son had accidentally shot himself on W. 77th Street and then fled. SPD officers arrived but could not locate the individual, and the family later refused police involvement.
Authorities are investigating these incidents, and further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
