SHREVEPORT, La — A 4th of July drive turned into a nightmare for a woman after she was allegedly shot while traveling on I-20 West near the I-220 East exit in Shreveport, Louisiana.
The incident happened around 2:21p.m. Despite suffering a gunshot wound to her side, the woman managed to keep control of her vehicle, driving onto I-220 East before pulling over and calling 911 for help.
First responders with the Shreveport Fire Department arrived and found the woman laying on the side of the interstate. She was transported to Ochsner LSU Health with injuries currently believed to be non-life-threatening.
Shreveport Police are investigating the shooting. Details remain limited, and it’s unclear who fired the shot or whether the woman was targeted.
The case is still in the early stages, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
