SHREVEPORT GARBAGE TRUCK TAKES OUT POWER POLES BEFORE CRASHING INTO BUILDING

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 10:56am, Shreveport Police and Fire Department received a call in regards to a Shreveport City Garbage truck crashing into a build in the 500 block of E. 70th St near the intersection of Line Ave

Upon arrival SFD discovered a power pole on fire in the middle of E. 70th St that had been snapped in half, with the other half still hanging on the power lines.

SPD discovered that there were multiple power poles that had been struck before the garbage truck eventually crashed into a green abandoned building.

There were also at least 2 vehicles that were parked in front of a business that were hit and heavily damaged as well.

Love Shreveport-Bossier was told at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital from this scene. No word if it was the driver or a bystander.

No confirmation to what may have caused this major accident at this time.
